
Ramnaresh Yadav, 54, died allegedly after consuming contaminated drinking water in Bhagirathpura area of Indore. There is already concern about water-borne diseases in the area. It is reported that Ramnaresh Yadav was suffering from health problems for more than two weeks. He was admitted in the ICU for 15 days, where he died during treatment on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, his daughter Prerna Yadav alleged that her father’s condition deteriorated due to contaminated water. He said that initially he had diarrhea. Later, due to water-borne infection, the infected fluid spread throughout the body. He was admitted in ICU for the last 15 days.
According to family members, due to continuous vomiting and diarrhea his condition became serious and his body became extremely weak. Later, swelling started appearing in the body, after which he was admitted to the hospital. Medical examination reportedly revealed that his liver and kidneys were seriously damaged. The family believes the infection spread throughout his body, causing organ failure and ultimately his death.
Local residents say that there is a problem of contaminated drinking water in Bhagirathpura for the last one month, due to which many people have fallen ill. Some people claim that other deaths in the area may also be linked to water pollution. Authorities had earlier informed the Assembly that about 20 deaths were linked to contaminated water, although locals say the actual number may be higher.
Ramnaresh Yadav was the only earning member of his family. He has four daughters in his family, some of whom are married, while some are still unmarried. Health department officials have not yet officially confirmed the exact cause of death in this case. It will be clear only after investigation whether the death was directly due to contaminated water or not.
