A rare disease has completely changed the life of Eloise Harris, a 20-year-old university student in the UK. He is only 20 years old, but his teeth have become so weak that they have started breaking.
She brushes her teeth every day and maintains good oral hygiene, but the condition of her teeth is still deteriorating. People taunt her that she doesn’t brush her teeth, takes drugs or doesn’t take care of herself. But the reality is something else.
The reason is a rare condition
She has a rare chronic illness that is affecting her teeth. Because of this, she is now bedbound, her confidence is completely broken and she is afraid to socialize. Eloise is from Ilkeston and is studying at university. But this disease became so serious that now he is forced to stay in bed. His teeth are becoming weak and breaking, making it difficult to chew food. She says that people call her ‘old’ looking or consider her a drug addict. But doctors confirmed that it is a rare chronic condition, which affects the tooth enamel. Diseases such as amelogenesis imperfecta or similar genetic disorders can weaken teeth, no matter how well a person takes care of them.
The problem started increasing gradually
Alois told that initially there was a slight problem with the teeth, but gradually they started sticking and breaking. Despite brushing daily, there was no benefit. Now the number of teeth in his mouth is very less. This situation is troubling her so much that she hesitates to go out. Friends and acquaintances make fun of him, which is also affecting his mental health. She says, “I don’t feel pretty anymore. People laugh at me, but they don’t know what’s happening to me.” The treatment of this disease is very expensive. She needs full mouth rehabilitation, which will involve implants or crowns. But such expensive treatment is not easily available on the NHS. That’s why Alois has started fundraising. She is raising money on GoFundMe or similar platforms so that she can find a life-changing solution.
