Many types of fake news are shared on social media. Three years ago, the act of a man from Karachi went viral on social media, where he painted a hen, turned it into a parrot and claimed to sell it on OLX. Now its secret has been exposed.

The flow of fake and funny news never stops on social media. Now again an old but funny story is going viral, in which a person in Karachi, Pakistan tried to sell a chicken on OLX by painting it green and calling it a rare parrot.
This incident is three years old, i.e. of 2023, but even in 2026, people are laughing by sharing it. The original post was shared by Instagram account ‘Diva Magazine Pakistan’, where there was a photo of a green colored chicken and the caption claimed that a shopkeeper from Karachi had listed it on OLX for 6500 Pakistani rupees (about 23 dollars), calling it a parrot. Now know its truth also.
Who is the real fraud?
People started laughing as soon as they saw this photo on the internet. It was written in the comments – ‘The chicken has been turned into a parrot!’, ‘Are the buyers blind?’, ‘The level of fraud is different in Pakistan!’ But soon the truth came out. Many users themselves checked on OLX and found that the original listing contained a real parrot, while the viral photo showed a chicken that had been edited or painted. Some said that the photo is completely fake or photoshopped. No buyer was duped because the scam was so obvious that netizens immediately exposed it.
