According to the information, a banquet program was organized at the Railway Officers Club on February 21 (Saturday) for Utsav, son of advocate Girijesh Shukla, resident of Rustampur Azad Nagar, Gorakhpur. Famous singer Nisha Upadhyay of Bihar (Chhapra) and anchor Golu Raja, resident of Arrah, were called through Ramniwas Verma to perform in this program.
During the programme, when Nisha Upadhyay was being called on the stage, Golu Raja, who was anchoring, made some indecent remarks against her on the mic. Nisha Upadhyay was so enraged by this that she took off her sandals on the stage itself and gave a befitting reply to the anchor. Seeing the controversy escalating, the people present there immediately intervened and after persuasion, brought the singer down from the stage.
Huge anger in advocate society, will fight case for free
There is huge anger among the advocates of Gorakhpur regarding this incident. Gorakhpur Civil Court advocate Santosh Kumar Upadhyay and former joint minister of Bar Organization Anoop Kumar Mishra, who were present at the program, have strongly condemned this act.
Advocates say that in CM Yogi’s city, this kind of insult to a female artist on a public platform will not be tolerated at all. The lawyer community completely stands with Nisha Upadhyay. It is being told that due to receiving threats, Nisha Upadhyay will soon come to Gorakhpur and lodge an FIR against the accused anchor. The lawyers have announced that if she takes legal action, they will fight her case absolutely free of charge and will get the accused punished severely.
