Delhi: International drug smuggling gang busted, drugs were being sent to UK

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted an interstate and international drug smuggling gang. In this operation, the police arrested 5 accused and recovered 18,47,400 intoxicating psychotropic pills worth about Rs 8 to 9 crores.

Delhi Police action based on intelligence information

According to Delhi Police, the whole matter started with a secret information received on 7 October 2025. Based on this, the Crime Branch team laid a trap in Madanpur Khadar Extension area and arrested the accused named Mohammad Abid. 54,000 tramadol tablets were recovered from him. After this, through interrogation and technical surveillance, the police gradually opened the layers of the entire network.

Drug trade was going on in many states including Delhi

Investigation by Delhi Police revealed that this gang was active in many states including Delhi and was trying to supply drugs to foreign countries. Police arrested Javed Khan, Sunil Kumar, Vishnu Dutt Sharma and Vikas Singh alias Ishwar Singh. Another accused Naushad alias Bablu is still absconding. The process of declaring him a declared criminal is going on.

The accused were preparing to send banned medicines to UK

During the investigation by Delhi Police, it was revealed that the gang had tried to send a large quantity of banned drugs to the United Kingdom through a container in the name of household goods. The police, along with the Customs Department, stopped the container, after which it was brought back to India.

Alprazolam and other banned medicines recovered in large quantities

In a joint operation at Mundra Port in Gujarat, huge quantities of Alprazolam, Tramadol, Nitrazepam and other banned drugs were recovered. In total, intoxicating pills weighing more than 528 kg were seized. A case has been registered against all the accused under the NDPS Act and further investigation is underway.
