Can India reach the semi-finals after a humiliating defeat against South Africa?

New Delhi. In the ICC T20 World Cup, South Africa showed a mirror to the Indian team in the very first match of Super 8. Suryakumar Yadav’s team, which reached the group stage after winning four out of four, suffered a crushing defeat by 76 runs. The batting collapsed badly and the bowlers also took a good beating. Batting first, South Africa scored a big score of 187 runs at the loss of 7 wickets on the basis of David Miller’s fifty. The Indian team collapsed for just 111 runs.

India’s shameful defeat against South Africa has made the path to the semi-finals difficult. The next match will be with the Zimbabwean team. In the group stage, this team easily defeated a team like Australia. Captain Sikandar Raza’s team won all its group matches. Now we have to face the Indian team. If Team India loses this match then it will become impossible for it to reach the semi-finals.

India will make changes in playing eleven after defeat from South Africa

Why did India lose the match?

Before the match against South Africa, the Indian team was considered a contender for victory. Even though the fans had not imagined the situation that happened in the match, experts were constantly talking about it. Team India’s batting flopped badly. In response to 187 runs, the team could reach only 111 runs. Cricket experts and former cricketers had been talking from the beginning that the team’s batting would disintegrate against spin. This is what made it difficult to include more left-handed batsmen in the playing eleven. Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma, all three top order batsmen are left handed.

Coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav left out team vice-captain Akshar Patel and gave a chance to Washington Sundar. This move backfired as he was neither able to score runs nor take wickets. Akshar Patel proves successful on both the fronts. Wrong decisions and bad batting ruined the team.
