
An encounter began today between security forces and Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in Chhatru area of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. In which the top commander of the organization was killed.
According to officials, the encounter started when the army conducted a search operation in the forests of Chatru. They had received information about two suspected terrorists being in the area.
A top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammed was killed during this operation. This joint action was taken by Jammu and Kashmir Police, 2 Parachute Battalion Special Forces and the Indian Army. However, due to difficult geographical conditions and ongoing operation, the body of the terrorist could not be recovered yet.
Security forces have surrounded the entire area and search operations are underway to eliminate the presence of other terrorists.
