Maharashtra: Lure of government job, two youths cheated of Rs 78 lakh, case registered

Maharashtra News: of Maharashtra washed A big case of cheating youth of lakhs of rupees by promising them government jobs has come to light. In this regard, two separate cases have been registered at Chalisgaon Road Police Station and West Devpur Police Station. The total amount of fraud in both the cases is said to be more than Rs 78 lakh, due to which even the police is surprised.

In this case, Vedant Sanjay Morankar (resident of Ambika Nagar, Chalisgaon Road, Dhule) has lodged a complaint at Chalisgaon Road Police Station. According to the complaint, some unknown people contacted him through mobile phone and lured him to get a job in the Health Department, Income Tax Department and Public Works Department.

Cheated of Rs 61 lakh by giving fake appointment letter

The accused won the trust by giving fake appointment order letters through post, e-mail and in person. Instead, Rs 39 lakh 74 thousand 500 were recovered online and Rs 22 lakh in cash from Vedant Morankar. In this way a total fraud of Rs 61 lakh 74 thousand 500 was done. This fraud was committed between May 3, 2023 and February 5, 2025, at his Ambika Nagar home and through online medium.

When Vedant came to know that the appointment letters given to him were fake, he lodged a complaint with the police. Police have registered a case against eight people in this matter and to avoid hindering the investigation, the names of the accused have not been made public at present.

Cheating of Rs 17 lakh in the second case

Similarly, another case has come to light from Dhule, here Sonali Kishore Salunkhe (resident of Satsang Colony, Gondur Road, Dhule) has lodged a complaint at West Devpur Police Station. According to the complaint, his sister’s son Rohit Kiran Khairnar was promised a job in the Excise Department and in return Rs 17 lakh was taken in cash. Besides, he was also given a fake joining order.

When it came to light that the entire matter was a fraud, Sonali Salunkhe contacted the police. In this case, a case has been registered against Roshan Rajaram Sendane (Satana), Tilakchand Amber Patil, Hemraj Tilakchand Patil, Pratibha Tilakchand Patil (Shindkheda, Rahimpur) and Kiran (complete address unknown). It has been told in the complaint that this fraud was going on continuously since January 2024.

Both cases registered on the same day, suspicion of gang

Interestingly, both these cases were registered on the same day in Chalisgaon Road and West Devpur police station. Although both the cases are different, but since the method of cheating is almost similar, the police suspect some organized gang to be active.

At present the police is searching for the suspects and confidential investigation is going on. Police say that soon this entire racket will be exposed and all the accused involved in the fraud will be arrested.
