Kaleshwaram Temple
Kaleshwaram Temple Telangana: India is called the land of gods where God is believed to reside in every particle. There are many temples here which are famous all over the world for their specific traditions and miracles. One of these is ‘Shri Kaleshwar Mukteshwar Swamy Temple’ located in Jayashankar Bhoopalpally district of Telangana. This temple is known not only for its ancient architecture but also for an amazing spiritual mystery that makes it completely different from other Shiva temples in the world.
The biggest feature of this temple is that there are two Shivalingas installed on the same stone (Peetha). Generally, there is only one main Shivalinga in the sanctum sanctorum of any temple, but the glory here is unique. Of these two Shivlingas, one is considered to be ‘Kaleshwar’ i.e. Yamraj, the god of death and the other is considered to be ‘Mukteshwar’ i.e. Lord Shiva himself.
According to mythology, Yamraj had performed severe penance for Lord Shiva here. When Mahadev was pleased, Yamraj asked for a boon that any devotee who comes here should first have darshan of Yamraj and then Mahadev. This is the reason that even today devotees worship Kaleshwar first and then Mukteshwar.
Thousands of liters of water belches out of Shivling’s holes.
There is such a deep mystery associated with this temple that it has troubled even science. There are two micro holes in Mukteshwar Shivling. Devotees offer thousands of liters of water and milk in these with devotion but the surprising thing is that these holes never fill. It is believed that this water goes down invisibly and directly joins the Godavari River. Even in today’s modern era, scientists have not been able to give an accurate geographical explanation of this mystery as to where so much water goes.
Triveni Sangam and South Kashi
This place is also very important and sacred from geographical point of view. This temple is situated at the Triveni confluence of Godavari, its tributary Pranhita and the extinct Saraswati river. It is also known as ‘Dakshin Triveni’. Due to this purity and spiritual energy, this temple has been given the title of ‘Kashi of South India’. Devotees have an unwavering belief that by visiting here the fear of untimely death is eliminated and one attains salvation from the cycle of life and death.
