Shadab had insulted former players including Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Yusuf. After the defeat against India in the T20 World Cup 2026, Shadab was criticized by many veteran cricketers. The team management was requested to make him sit on the bench along with Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Just because two former players criticized the team, you forgot all their help? Learn to respect your seniors.”
