
The foundation stone of North India’s first semiconductor unit is going to be laid in Greater Noida on 21st February. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Will lay the foundation stone of the semiconductor park to be built in Sector-28 of Yamuna Development Authority (YIDA). This project will be built on 48 acres of land at a cost of about Rs 4000 crore. Prime Minister on this occasion Narendra Modi Will join through virtual medium, while Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav will also be present in the program.
A review of the preparations was taken
In view of the VVIP program, the administration has intensified preparations. District Magistrate Medha Rupam inspected the venue along with Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh and Yamuna Authority CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh.
The strength of the stage, guest gallery, media gallery and security arrangements of the helipad were reviewed. Instructions have been given to complete the fire brigade, ambulance, barricading and other security arrangements on time. Special attention is also being given to parking, electricity, water, cleanliness and traffic management.
Traffic diversions and restrictions
In view of the Chief Minister’s visit to Jewar, there will be a ban on entry of heavy vehicles on Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway from 7 am to 10 pm on February 21. The traffic police has decided separate routes and parking zones for the venue. However, ambulances and other essential services have been exempted from this ban.
Foxconn and HCL joint venture
This unit is being developed by ‘India Chip Private Limited’, a joint venture between Foxconn and HCL. About Rs 3706 crore will be invested by the company.
It is being told that this project will provide direct employment to about 3000 people. Apart from this, small and supporting industries will also develop in the surrounding areas, due to which jewelery and greater Noida Industrial activities will increase rapidly in the area.
Steps towards self-reliant India
Semiconductor is the most essential part of electronic devices like computers, laptops and mobile phones. With the start of this unit, India’s self-reliance will be strengthened and Uttar Pradesh will be able to join the major industrial centers of the country. This project can prove to be a milestone for the economy of the state.
