AUS vs Oman Highlights: Australia registered a resounding victory over Oman by 9 wickets in its last match of the T20 World Cup. For Australia, spinner Adam Zampa took maximum 4 wickets while in batting, Travis Head and captain Mitchell Marsh batted brilliantly. Oman’s team collapsed for 104 runs in 16.2 overs. Australia achieved the target of 105 runs with the loss of one wicket in 9.4 overs. This is the fastest run chase of 100 plus in the T20 World Cup. During this period, Australia equaled the record of England in which it had made the record of fastest run chase in the same number of overs.

New Delhi. Australia equaled the record of fastest 100 plus run chase in T20 World Cup history. The Australian team captained by Mitchell Marsh achieved this feat by defeating Oman by 9 wickets. Earlier, England had also made a record of 100 plus run chase in 58 balls. Now it has been named jointly with Australia and England. With this the campaign of both the teams in the World Cup ended. Chasing a small target, Australian openers Marsh and Head got off to a great start. Marsh completed his half-century in 26 balls.
Chasing the target of 105 runs set by Oman, the Australian team won by losing one wicket in 9.4 overs. Australia scored 108 runs for 1 wicket in 9.4 overs. Mitchell Marsh scored unbeaten 64 runs on 33 balls which included 7 fours and 4 sixes. Travis Head played an inning of 32 runs which included 6 fours. Josh Inglis scored 12 unbeaten runs on 6 balls.
With the help of experienced leg spinner Adam Zampa, Australia bowled out Oman for 104 runs. Zampa took four wickets for 21 runs while Xavier Bartlett and Glenn Maxwell took two wickets each. Oman team 16. Was out in 2 overs. Wasim Ali scored 32 runs in 33 balls for Oman. Australia, already out of the Super Eight race, won the toss and decided to bowl and Bartlett took the wicket of Aamir Kaleem on the very first ball.

No runs were scored on the next four balls, after which Karan Sonawale opened Oman’s account by hitting a four on mid-on. Glenn Maxwell took the catch of Karan in the slip on the last ball. Oman captain Jatinder Singh hit a four to Marcus Stoinis in the next over and after that he also hit a four to Bartlett.
Karan welcomed Nathan Ellis with a four. However, Ellis achieved success on the very next ball and Karan lost his wicket while trying to play a cut shot. Jatinder hit Bartlett for a four through cover point but was dodged on the next brilliant ball and lost the wicket without using any footwork. Oman had lost three wickets for 39 runs in five overs. Hammad Mirza hit Cameron Green for a four over point, due to which at the end of the powerplay, Oman’s score was 47 runs for three wickets.
Bartlett was hit fours by Mirza and Wasim Ali after which the ball was handed to experienced leg spinner Zampa. He took the wicket of Mirza in the very first over. After this, Maxwell compensated for the mistake of dropping the catch and took two wickets.
