New Delhi. The series of controversies and statements never ends in Pakistan cricket. Now a new controversy has arisen amid the T20 World Cup, in which former veteran cricketer Basit Ali and current all-rounder Shadab Khan are face to face. The root of this controversy is Shadab’s poor performance against India and his subsequent attack on the giants. Colombo’s R. Shadab Khan’s performance was disappointing in the India-Pakistan mega match played on 15th February at Premadasa Stadium. For the Pakistani team playing under the captaincy of Salman Ali Aga, Shadab bowled only one over and gave away 17 runs in it. Pakistan lost this match by 61 runs, after which former cricketers raised questions on the place of Shadab, Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi in the team.
Shadab Khan made a brilliant comeback with bat and ball in the very next match against Namibia. He played an important role in Pakistan’s victory by scoring more than 30 runs and taking 3 wickets. After the match, Shadab while replying to the critics in the press conference said, ‘After my return, I bowled only one bad over and there is so much criticism on it. This is T20 cricket. Here you both give runs and take wickets. I don’t pay much attention to these things.

Basit Ali said- respect your father-in-law
This statement of Shadab Khan angered former cricketer Basit Ali. During the discussion on ‘ARY News’, Basit reminded that his own father-in-law and veteran spinner Saqlain Mushtaq was also among those who criticized Shadab. Basit Ali reminded Shadab of decorum and said that Shadab should not have made such comments against his father-in-law (Saqlain Mushtaq). Basit sarcastically said, ‘The level of match-winner Saqlain Mushtaq was, he would have kept 10 players like Shadab in his pocket. Players of the 90s did not come into the team on the basis of recommendation, but on the basis of pure performance.
Coach Mike Hesson accused of being a ‘baby’
Basit Ali did not stop here, he also raised questions on Shadab Khan’s position in the team and batting order. He accused current head coach Mike Hesson of bias. This statement of Shadab angered former cricketer Basit Ali. He said, ‘Why are they sent to bat in the top order against weak teams? Because he is Mike Hesson’s son. If the captaincy was in the hands of Inzamam, Waqar (Younis) or Saqlain, I would have seen at which number they would have batted.
