
In village Baghai Katailia of Naujheel police station area of Mathura, a young man had murdered his sister-in-law by slitting her throat in protest against teasing. In this case, the police have arrested the main accused brother-in-law and the husband, mother-in-law and in-laws on charges of destroying evidence and misleading the police.

SP Dehat Suresh Chandra Rawat said that on Sunday (February 15) morning, newlywed Karishma was murdered in village Baghai Katalia. The married woman was preparing to go to her maternal village Nandlalpur, Khandauli, Agra after about three and a half months of marriage. During this time, brother-in-law Deepak molested her. When Karishma raised noise and protested, accused Deepak attacked Karishma several times with a blade on her neck, due to which Karishma died on the spot.

After Karishma’s murder, her in-laws conspired to hide the incident. Police investigation has revealed that father-in-law Jwala Prasad, husband Pramod alias Kalu and mother-in-law Angoori Devi together washed away the blood in the courtyard and room of the house with water. Tried to dispose of the blood stained clothes and bedding by filling them in a sack. Not only this, to mislead the police, the accused fabricated a story that masked miscreants had entered the house and attacked. On the other hand, accused Deepak had also made wounds on his neck with a blade, so that the case looked suspicious.

Police and forensic team reached the spot after receiving information and inspected the spot. When the police became suspicious, they strictly interrogated the family members and the truth came out. The police also recovered the blade used in the murder from the ashes of the stove. On the other hand, blood stained clothes and other materials were also recovered. On the night of the incident, the deceased’s father Omprakash had lodged an FIR against brother-in-law, husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law.

SP Dehat said that on Wednesday the police received information that the main accused Deepak was planning to leave the house along with his family. On information, the team led by police station in-charge Sonu Kumar arrested the main accused Deepak, his father Jwala Prasad, brother Pramod and mother Angoori Devi from village Baghai Katailiya itself.
