A heart-wrenching incident happened in the East region of Texas. A plane crashed here during emergency landing. A husband and wife from Florida died in this accident, but their pet dog miraculously survived.
The deceased couple has been identified as Ron J. Timmerman and his wife, Barbara Timmerman. Ron was an award-winning flight instructor, receiving the title of National Certified Flight Instructor of the Year by the FAA in 2021. He had been a flight instructor since 1998 and ran his own aviation company, AileRon T LLC, based in Orlando, Florida.

This accident happened on February 11, 2026 at around 5:13 pm in Brownsboro near Murchison. The couple were flying their single-engine Beechcraft A36 plane, along with their small lap dog. According to the FAA’s preliminary investigation, the pilot declared an emergency because there was engine trouble and visibility was reduced due to oil on the windshield. They were attempting an emergency landing near Brownsboro, but the plane hit a power line, causing it to crash to the ground and catch fire. The plane fell near neighboring houses, causing a power failure in the area. After the accident, local resident Mary Ann Shoulders said that she came out after hearing the loud sound of the plane falling. The plane was burning. The couple died on the spot, but the dog was alive.
People are surprised by the miracle
A neighbor picked up the dog and took it into his care. After the couple’s departure, their daughter (who is a veterinarian) and granddaughter are taking care of it. This incident is very sad for the aviation community. Ron was considered a ‘mentor’ by his friends and colleagues. The Florida Aviation Network mourned that Ron and Barbara were ‘gone west’. Many people paid tribute to both of them on social media, where in one post it was written that Ron loved aviation very much. The FAA and NTSB are investigating how the oil reached the windshield and what caused the engine failure. Initial reports cited dirty windshield as the main cause of the emergency. This accident reminds us how dangerous even small technical faults can be. The survival of the dog is the biggest miracle. Despite the fire and collision, he came out without injury. Neighbors said that after seeing this it felt as if death had been defeated. In many reports it was called ‘Miracle’. The family is now cherishing memories with the dog.
