Jones laid a strong foundation for the team by making a partnership of 80 runs for the first wicket with George Munsey during his innings of eight fours and three sixes in 45 balls. Right-handed Jones scored boundaries at regular intervals, while Munsey could score only 27 runs in 29 balls with the help of four fours. Muncy was out after being caught by Sandeep Jora on the ball of Rohit Paudel in the 10th over of the innings. Nepal got a chance to get another wicket on the first ball of the 14th over, when Brandon McMullen played a high shot off Nandan Yadav but Zora took an easy catch.

Even after this, Jones continued the flurry of big shots and hit a 94 meter long six straight into the balcony of the dressing room, where his teammate Tom Bruce caught the ball.
