Nepal won T20 World Cup after 12 years, defeated Scotland by 7 wickets

New Delhi: Due to the stormy batting of Deependra Singh Ari and the lethal bowling of Sompal Kami, Nepal defeated Scotland by 7 wickets in the 33rd match of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. In this match played at Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai, Scotland batted first after losing the toss and scored 170 in the stipulated 20 overs. In response to this score of Scotland, Nepal team won the match by scoring 171 runs in 19.2 overs.

In this way, the Nepal team ended its campaign of the tournament with a win. Nepal has won the T20 World Cup after 12 years. While chasing the target for Nepal, Deependra Singh Eri batted brilliantly. Deependra remained unbeaten after scoring 50 runs in 23 balls. In this innings he also hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. During this period, Deependra got excellent support from Gulshan Jha. There was a partnership of 73 runs in 37 balls between Gulshan and Deependra. Gulshan Jha scored 24 runs in 17 balls.

Kusal and Asif made a strong start

In batting for Nepal, opener batsmen Kusal Bhurtel and Asif Sheikh gave a strong start to their team. In the beginning, while saving the wicket, both of them made a partnership of 74 runs for the first wicket. Kusal Bhurtel played an inning of 43 runs in 35 balls for Nepal. In this innings he also hit 4 sixes and 1 four. Apart from this, Asif Shaikh contributed 33 runs in 27 balls. Whereas captain Rohit Paudel scored 16 runs.

Nepal’s bowling was also strong
