New Delhi: Afghanistan cricket team is almost out of the race for Super-8 in ICC T20 World Cup 2026. However, the team’s veteran player and captain Rashid Khan has made a splash with his bowling. Actually Rashid Khan has completed 700 wickets in T20 format in the tournament. Rashid has become the first bowler in the world to touch this magical figure. Rashid has achieved this feat in his 518th T20 match.

Rashid achieved the feat of opening his claws four times in this figure of 700 wickets. He took four wickets 18 times. Apart from this, his best performance in T20 cricket is taking 6 wickets for 17 runs. Rashid Khan has made this world record by playing in different T20 leagues around the world apart from Afghanistan.

How has Rashid’s performance been in the T20 World Cup?

If we look at Rashid Khan’s performance in the current ICC T20 World Cup, he has played a total of three matches so far, in which he has taken four wickets in his account. Rashid’s most powerful performance came against South Africa. In the match with South Africa, he took 2 wickets for 28 runs and also contributed 20 runs in batting. Due to this tremendous game of Rashid, Afghanistan team took the match to super over twice, but unfortunately could not win.
