Bihar: Now Rs 2 lakh each will go to women’s account, process started, JDU put up poster in Patna

From the time of Bihar Assembly elections (2025), women are being given Rs 10,000 each under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana’. Under the scheme, there was a provision to give Rs 10,000 to a woman of a family first and then Rs 2 lakh after six months. Today (Monday) also, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar transferred Rs 10,000 each to the accounts of 25 lakh women of Bihar.

Under this scheme, till now an amount of Rs 18 thousand 100 crore has been sent by the government to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries. This exercise is being done to make the women of the state self-reliant and provide them employment. The women who had earlier received Rs 10 thousand are now waiting for Rs 2 lakh. Now a poster in this regard has been put up in Patna by Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United.

‘Women will grow, Bihar will grow’

A big poster put up on Veerchand Patel Path reads, “What was said was done, the process of giving Rs 2 lakh to a woman from every family under the Chief Minister Mahila Rozgar Yojana started.” It is written at the bottom of the poster, “Women will grow, Bihar will grow”, along with this there is a big picture of Nitish Kumar on the poster.

Two lakhs will come in four installments

Women who are eligible for Rs 2 lakh will not get this money at once. The department has made it clear that Rs 2 lakh will not be given at once but in four installments. In the first installment, Rs 20,000 will be given by the government and the woman will have to invest Rs 5,000 herself. After this, in the second phase the government will give Rs 40,000, then you will have to give Rs 10,000 yourself. In the third phase, you will get Rs 80,000 from the government and you will have to pay Rs 20,000 yourself. In the fourth phase, Rs 60,000 will be given for marketing, branding and packaging.

On the other hand, a condition has also been laid that women will have to participate in the group meetings regularly. Complete accounts of income and expenditure will have to be maintained. Even if it is small, it has been made mandatory to make FD or RD every month.
