
Today is the 44th and last day of Magh Mela 2026. On the sixth and last bathing festival of Mahashivratri, a huge crowd of devotees has gathered at Triveni Sangam. By 8 am, around 15 lakh people had taken the dip of faith. As the day progresses, the number of devotees on the Sangam banks is continuously increasing.
People started reaching Sangam early today from Brahma Muhurta. Devotees are feeling blessed by taking bath in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. It is believed that the results of bathing and worship increase manifold on the day of Mahashivratri. The special combination of planets and stars is also considered very auspicious this time.
Abhishekam in Shiva temples after bathing
After taking a dip in the Sangam, devotees reach different Shiva temples in the city and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. Donating food, clothes and gold on this day is also given special importance. Many devotees were seen donating to the needy.
Estimated arrival of one crore devotees
The fair administration has estimated that around 1 crore people will take bath today. In view of the crowd, strict security arrangements have been made. Top officials of police and administration are present at Ground Zero and every activity is being monitored. Additional security forces have also been deployed at pagodas and major roads.

More than 22 crore devotees took bath
So far, more than 22 crore devotees have taken bath in the Sangam in this year’s Magh Mela, which is a new record in itself. Magh Mela 2026 will formally end with this last bathing festival of Mahashivratri. With this atmosphere full of reverence, devotion and faith, the Magh Mela of Prayagraj has reached a historic milestone.
