On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, an unprecedented crowd of people of faith gathered in Kashi from Sunday morning itself. From the morning Mangala Aarti till 9 am, about four lakh devotees had darshan and worship in Baba’s court. Chants of Har-Har Mahadev and Om Namah Shivay continuously echoed in the temple premises and surrounding areas, due to which the entire atmosphere became Shiva-filled.
Long queues of devotees had started forming since early morning. Devotees from far-flung districts and other states were seen waiting for hours with their families and coming forward to have Baba’s darshan. The devotees looked emotional as soon as they entered the temple. Many devotees had arrived with special puja materials for Jalabhishek and Rudrabhishek.
