In mid-February, the weather patterns are changing rapidly across the country. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas of North India due to the activation of Western Disturbance from February 16, while on February 17, there may be light rain with thunder in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Western Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan. On the other hand, heat and humidity are troubling people in the south and coastal areas.

According to the latest update of the Meteorological Department, at present a high-speed subtropical western jet stream is active over North India. Under its influence, a new western disturbance may affect the weather of the western Himalayan regions from February 16.

Due to this, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in different parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad between 16 to 18 February. At the same time, dense fog is expected to prevail in the morning in some areas of Himachal Pradesh till February 15.
