‘Not performing at his best’, South African captain not happy even after two wins in two matches

Aiden McCram believes that his team has not yet been able to give its best performance in the T20 World Cup, but with gradual improvement, the results will be good.

Before the match against New Zealand, McCram admitted that Kiwi coach Rob Walter is well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of his team. Walter has previously worked with many South African players. “He knows all of us very well and he knows how we can perform best or where we fall short,” McCram said.

He said, ‘I believe that as a team we have not been able to perform at our best. Our focus is to play at our 100 percent capacity. If we keep improving our performance, results will follow automatically. He admitted that discipline was not visible in bowling. In the last two matches, their bowlers gave 22 extra runs. McCram said, ’11 extra runs are a lot in this format. We are talking about this in team meetings. Every bowler will have to play to his strengths. When asked about the team combination in the floodlights in Ahmedabad, he said that there will be a balance between spin and fast bowling.
