India reaches top with second consecutive win
This is India’s second consecutive win in the current tournament. Earlier, the team had started the campaign on a great note by defeating America in its first match of the T20 World Cup. Now India’s eyes are on the match against Pakistan on Sunday (15 February). This match will be high-pressure for both the teams. Let us tell you that with this victory, India has secured the top position in the points table of Group A. At the same time, Pakistan slipped to second position.
Ishan Kishan’s explosive innings
Batting first against Namibia in the group match of the T20 World Cup, India made a big score of 209 runs. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya scored stormy half-centuries in the Indian innings, while Namibian captain Gerhard Erasmus bowled brilliantly and kept the excitement in the match by taking four wickets.
If Sanju Samson’s innings was like a few moments of brilliance, then Ishan Kishan’s batting was as thrilling as the entire film. Kishan scored 61 runs in 24 balls. He completed his half-century in just 20 balls, which included five sixes and six fours. As soon as Namibia’s bowlers made a slight mistake in length, Kishan sent the ball beyond the stands with full force. His dynamic batting gave India a fast start and laid a strong foundation for a big score.
Samson and Surya missed
Sanju Samson scored 22 runs in 8 balls. His innings included three attractive sixes. However, despite a good start, he could not convert it into a big innings and was caught out at cow corner. Captain Suryakumar Yadav also could not do anything special. He scored 12 runs in 12 balls. Surya missed a brilliant ball by Bernard Scholtz while trying to play forward and was stumped. This was one of the best balls of the innings. Tilak Verma contributed 25 runs, but was seen struggling against the variations of Erasmus.
