
Group C match is being played between Nepal and Italy in the T20 World Cup. Italy won the toss in this match and decided to bowl. Italy continues to bat while chasing the target. Italy all out Nepal cheaply with the help of brilliant performance by the bowlers led by Krishan Kalugamage. Nepal team was all out for 123 runs in 19.3 overs.
Nepal suffered initial setbacks
Batting first, Nepal suffered initial setbacks. Nepal lost three wickets on the score of 49 runs. The first blow to the team was suffered by Kushal Bhurtal who was out after scoring five runs. After this, captain Rohit Paudel returned to the pavilion after scoring 23 runs on 14 balls. Then Asif Shaikh was out as the third batsman after scoring 20 runs. After this, Nepal lost wickets at regular intervals.
Nepal’s innings
Italy faltered Nepal’s innings so much that the team could not make a comeback. No batsman could play a big innings for Nepal. For Nepal, Arif Shaikh scored the highest score of 27 runs, while Karan KC remained unbeaten on 18 runs with the help of one four and one six in 11 balls. Whereas, Deependra Singh Aare scored 17 runs, Sandeep Lamichhane scored five runs, Lokesh Bam scored three runs and Gulshan Jha scored three runs. For Italy, Krishan took three wickets, while Ben Manenti took two wickets. Whereas, Ali Hasan, JJ Smuts and Jaspreet Singh took one wicket each.
