New Delhi. The team management including head coach Gautam Gambhir is worried due to Abhishek Sharma being ill. Because this has affected their planning. There is no threat to India in the T20 World Cup match against Namibia, but this match is very important for Team India before the big match to be played against Pakistan on 15th February. Against Namibia, Indian players will get a chance to strengthen their preparations against Pakistan. The teams of India and Namibia will clash today i.e. Thursday at 7 pm at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In place of Abhishek, Sanju Samson will be fielded in the opening in place of Ishan Kishan.
In the first match against America, the batsmen were not able to perform as expected on the sticky pitch of Wankhede. Now he would like to show an aggressive game on the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch, which can be called an excellent pitch for batting. India has the upper hand against Namibia, whose team could not perform well against Netherlands on the same ground. If India wins the toss, then it would like to bat first so that its batsmen can get adequate opportunities. Namibia’s bowling attack is not special and any team playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy can remind them of Chhathi’s milk.

Although Abhishek has been discharged from the hospital due to stomach infection and viral fever, it would not be appropriate to field him to give him a chance to recover completely before the big match against Pakistan on Sunday. Because Abhishek’s presence in that match will prove to be an important challenge for the opposition team. The match against Namibia can prove to be a golden opportunity for Sanju Samson, who was struggling with poor form, to get back into form, because due to continuous failures, he lost his place to Ishan Kishan, who is in great form at the moment.
In the press conference before the match, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said, ‘Sanju is feeling good and is understanding his role in the team in place of the injured player. He is a kind person, he treats the team well, he is practicing well and that is what we expect from all of us in the team. Stopping India’s strong batting will be a tough challenge for Namibia. It will be even more challenging for their batsmen to face the balls of Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakraborty and Hardik Pandya.
Among Namibia’s top six batsmen, only all-rounder JJ Smit has a strike rate above 140. Facing Chakravarthy could be a big challenge for the Namibian team as they do not usually face bowlers of such high quality. The International Cricket Council (ICC) scheduling team ensured that, except for the commercially important match against Pakistan, India’s league stage matches would be against teams that would also lose to India’s A, B or C teams in this format. After playing the match with Namibia, the Indian team will fly to Colombo where it has to face Pakistan on Sunday.
