‘It is not proper to roam around with back dated letters in your pocket’, Jairam Thakur taunts CM Sukhu

Former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has opened a front against the Sukhu government on the ‘Dedication Day’ organized in Bhuntar, Kullu. While participating in the program organized on the martyrdom day of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Jairam Thakur took a dig at Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and said that there is a dignity in the post of Chief Minister, but roaming around with ‘back date’ letters in his pocket and doing petty politics does not suit him.

Jairam Thakur blamed the mismanagement of Congress for the economic plight of the state. He defended the central government through figures on the issue of Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG).

‘Grant worth Rs 45,000 crore received during Modi rule’

He said that during Manmohan Singh’s tenure (2010-14), Himachal had received RDG of only Rs 7,800 crore, while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi During the tenure of (2015-20) this amount increased to Rs 45,000 crore. He clarified that the Finance Commission had already indicated to gradually taper down the RDG, but the Chief Minister did not present his case at the appropriate forum in time and is now blaming the Center to hide his failure.

‘Losing treasure on friends’

The former CM alleged that Congress gave 10 guarantees in a hurry to get power, but now wants to put the financial burden on the Centre, which is not fair. He said that on one hand the government is crying about the treasury being empty and on the other hand public welfare schemes like Him Care, Sahara, Shagun etc. Budget On the other hand, government money is being looted by distributing cabinet ranks and expensive cars to ‘friends’.

‘CM is running the government like a student organization’

Jai Ram Thakur made a scathing attack and said that Chief Minister Sukhu was running the government like a ‘student organization’. He warned that the opposition will not remain silent for the interests of the state. The ‘incompetence’ of the government will not be hidden merely by making noise. Many senior BJP leaders including former MP Maheshwar Singh and local MLAs were present in the program.
