A glimpse of the elections will be visible in the state government’s budget to be presented on Wednesday. In the budget of around Rs 9 to 9.5 lakh crore, the maximum amount will be allocated for investment, employment, basic development and welfare schemes. One fourth of the budget will be for infrastructure.
This last full budget to be presented before the 2027 assembly elections will be historic in many ways. The center of the budget will be regional development. The government can give a big gift to eliminate the regional imbalance especially in Purvanchal and Bundelkhand. About Rs 1900 crore may be allocated for Purvanchal and Bundelkhand Development Fund, which is about Rs 700 crore more than the last financial year. This will lead to rapid development in 37 backward districts of both the regions.
