This match was played against Afghanistan in Chennai on 8th February. New Zealand Cricket said in a statement, “Bracewell had recovered from the calf injury suffered in the third ODI against India last month, but re-injured the muscle during practice on Sunday.”

In place of Bracewell, off-spin all-rounder Cole McConchie will now come to India to join the team as a reserve along with fast bowler Ben Sears.
