Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Vice President Rajiv Shukla gave his reaction regarding this on Tuesday. On Monday night, the Pakistan government changed its decision and announced that the team will enter the field to play the match against India. On Sunday, a two-member ICC delegation met PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi and BCB chief Aminul Islam at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Where some demands were placed before the ICC. When ICC confirmed that there will be no ban on Bangladesh. It will get the right to host an ICC event before 2031, then the Government of Pakistan formally announced its decision.
On Tuesday morning, BCCI Vice President Shukla addressed the journalists and thanked the ICC for its leadership. Shukla said, “I am very happy with the outcome of the talks initiated by the ICC representative. The way the ICC Deputy Chairman and representatives took it forward by going to Lahore and talking to the Pakistan Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board. A good and amicable solution has been found to give priority to the importance of cricket.”
He further said, “Congratulations to the ICC for what it has done. They took the initiative, resolved the issue and brought cricket back to the center stage. This is a big achievement for the ICC. I want to thank the ICC that they prepared Pakistan for talks and ultimately Pakistan decided to play the match in Colombo.”
