He was given a grand welcome at Mumbai airport on Sunday. Their parents had reached the airport to pick up the players. Thousands of fans were also eager to see a glimpse of the world champions.

New Delhi. India’s Under-19 cricket team returned to the country on Sunday after becoming world champion. The champion players were given a warm welcome at the Mumbai airport. The Indian team, captained by Ayush Mhatre, won the title for the sixth time by defeating England in the final. The parents of all the players including Vaibhav Suryavanshi had reached the airport to pick up their world champion players. Indian players were taken out of the airport amid heavy security arrangements. Then all the players left for their respective homes.
India had made a huge score of 411 runs against England in the Under-19 World Cup final. In response, the England team could score only 311 runs. India created history by winning this match by 100 runs. 14 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi had an important contribution in India’s victory, who played an inning of 175 runs in 80 balls in the final in which he hit 15 sixes and 15 fours. He scored 150 runs only from boundaries. Vaibhav was chosen Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament in the final. Left-handed opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi went to Zimbabwe for the first time to play the World Cup.
