
Home Minister Amit Shah is on a tour of Jammu and Kashmir. Yesterday he planted saplings in the Bobiya campus. Along with this, projects worth Rs 7 crore were inaugurated for the welfare of border guards. These include newly constructed solar water heater, solar power plant and mess for officers. According to the information received, the foundation stone of infrastructure related projects of Border Security Force worth Rs 242 crore was also laid. He also had lunch with BSF jawans and officers at the forward post before concluding the tour.
Home Minister Shah Gurnam and Bobiya reached forward posts
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who reached Jammu on a three-day visit after encounters with terrorists in Kathua, Kishtwar and Udhampur, visited the international border of Kathua district on Friday. On Hiranagar sector, he went to Gurnam and Bobiya forward posts and stayed among the soldiers for two hours and took stock of the arrangements. After this he held a high level security review meeting at Lok Bhavan. During this, he gave instructions to intensify the operation to eliminate the terrorists hiding in the mountains.
In the meeting, discussions were held on implementing the strategies made in the recent meetings of the Union Home Minister in New Delhi and the Union Home Secretary in Jammu. The Union Home Minister asked to intensify the operation against terrorists as per the strategy made in the previous meetings. He especially gave instructions to eliminate the terrorists operating in the hilly and inaccessible areas of Jammu division and to dismantle the support system of the terrorists. Along with this, law and order, border security arrangements, anti-terrorism operations and measures to prevent infiltration were reviewed.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief Upendra Dwivedi, DGP Jammu and Kashmir Police Neelan Prabhat, senior officials of BSF, CRPF and Home Department were present in the meeting. The officers gave detailed information to Shah about coordination between various agencies and intelligence inputs.
Frankly to the officers…any kind of laxity will not be tolerated
Shah gave clear instructions to take strict action against the elements creating obstacles to peace and stability. Asked to make every possible effort to ensure that the normal situation in the state is maintained. He said that Army, BSF, Police, CRPF and Intelligence agencies should strengthen mutual coordination. Be cautious with sharing inputs.
Had lunch with soldiers at Bobiya forward post
Shah also laid the foundation stone for infrastructure projects worth Rs 242 crore of the Border Security Force at Bobiya forward post. Shah, who stayed at the forward post for about one and a half hour, also had lunch with BSF soldiers and officers.
