Mohammed Siraj replace Harshit Rana: Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been included in the Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Mohammad Siraj has been included in the team in place of injured Harshit Rana. Harshit Rana got injured during practice just before the start of the tournament.

Mohammed Siraj joins Harshit Rana’s Team India

New Delhi: Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has been included in the squad of the Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Siraj has got a place in Team India in place of Harshit Rana. Harshit Rana suffered a right knee injury during the warm-up match against South Africa on February 4, due to which he is out of the tournament.

Let us tell you that all the teams participating in the T20 World Cup had time till January 31 to make changes in their squads. In such a situation, to include Mohammad Siraj in the team, approval had to be taken from the ICC Event Technical Committee. Siraj played his last T20 match for Team India in July 2024 against Sri Lanka. In such a situation, playing in the shorter format for Team India after such a long time is going to be no less than a challenge for Mohammad Siraj.

India’s first match with USA on 7th February

Team India’s first match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is with the United States of America (USA). Both the teams will take the field at Wankhede Cricket Stadium in Mumbai on 7th February. The Indian team is included in Group A of the tournament. After the match with America, Team India has to play its second match with Namibia on 12th February at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi, after that the team will leave for Colombo for the match against Pakistan on 15th February, but Pakistan has boycotted this match against India.
