There used to be something different about childhood games. While playing ‘Parrot flies, Myna flies’, when someone jokingly said ‘Pig flies’, everyone started laughing loudly, because we knew that it is impossible for a pig to fly. How can an animal fly in the sky without wings? It seemed like just a joke and a matter of imagination. But imagine, what if someone actually tries to throw a pig in the air? It sounds strange, doesn’t it? But a farmer in China did such a strange and dangerous experiment. Frustrated with the difficult mountain roads in his village, he devised a way to help a pig cross the road by flying it using a drone. Initially this idea seemed easy and fast to him, but within a few minutes this idea turned into a huge problem. The drone got entangled in high-voltage wires, the pig hung in the air and the entire village lost power for hours. This incident is now viral on social media and people are surprised as well as laughing after seeing it.
The farmer was troubled by the problem of hilly area
According to South China Morning Post, this incident happened on January 24 in Tongjiang County of Sichuan Province of China. The farmer’s village is situated amidst the mountains, where it is very difficult to transport animals by vehicles, so he thought of adopting a new method to quickly transport the pigs to the slaughterhouse. The farmer thought that with the help of a drone, the pig could be tied to a rope and taken away hanging in the air. He felt that this would save time and also reduce hard work. It was early morning and there was less light. As soon as the drone picked up the first pig, its rope got stuck in a nearby high-voltage power line.

Within a few seconds the drone stopped and the pig got stuck in the air. The villagers were surprised to see this sight. Due to entanglement in the wires, the power line got damaged and the entire village lost electricity. People remained without electricity for about 10 hours. According to SCMP, the local electricity department was called after this accident. A team of 12 employees worked hard for hours to repair the line. The repair cost approximately 10,000 yuan (about Rs 1.8 lakh).
Video went viral on social media
The video of this incident quickly went viral on social media. People gave funny reactions to this layoff. Some people jokingly said, “Now even pigs have really started flying!” Many users called it a dangerous and stupid move. Police investigation revealed that the farmer flew the drone in a no-fly zone and also put excessive weight on the drone. If found guilty, he may be fined and action may also be taken.
