
Chhattisgarh News: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today performed the formal Bhoomi Pujan of the Mayali-Bagicha Development Project, approved under the sub-scheme CBDD of the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 of the Government of India, at the Mayali Nature Camp. Under this project, implemented at a cost of about Rs 10 crore, various tourism facilities will be developed in Mayali, world famous Madheshwar Mountain (the world’s largest natural Shivling) and Kailash Cave area located in Bagicha.
This project will conserve the natural, cultural and tribal heritage of the area as well as strengthen community-based tourism. This will create new employment opportunities for the local youth and Jashpur district will get a new identity as a major tourist destination.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai while congratulating the residents of the area said that Mayali-Bagicha Development Project is a historic initiative for the tourism development of Jashpur district. Today a strong foundation for the development of Mayali has been laid. Mayali is now emerging rapidly on the tourism map and in the coming times it will develop as a global tourism centre.
Madheshwar Mahadev Tourism Development Scheme- CM Say
The Chief Minister said that the identity of Mayali has been associated with Madheshwar Mahadev for centuries, which is considered to be the largest natural Shivalinga in the world. Through this development project, the religious and tourist importance of Madheshwar Mountain will be recognized at the national and international level. Under the project, a tourist resort and skill development center will be constructed near Mayali Dam.
He said that Mayali will be developed as a holistic eco-tourism and adventure destination. The forests, waterfalls, mountains and rich tribal culture here will be made accessible to tourists from across the country and the world. Local people will directly benefit from the income generated from tourism. Sai said that for this purpose the home-stay policy has been implemented by the state government, so that rural families will be able to earn income by directly engaging in tourism activities and tourists will get an opportunity to know the local culture closely.
Training center for youth- CM SAI
The Chief Minister said that this project has brought new opportunities for the youth of the area. Training related to tour guide, hotel service, adventure sports, handicrafts and digital booking will be given in the skill development center. This will give national and international recognition not only to tourism but also to the social and cultural diversities of Jashpur.
Mayali area will be developed as a holistic destination for natural, religious and rural tourism. Under the project, 5 tourist cottages, conference and convention hall, skill development center, grand entrance gate, boundary wall, modern toilet facilities, landscaping and pathways will be constructed. With these facilities, there will be better arrangements for tourist accommodation and various events and employment opportunities will be created.
To strengthen religious tourism, entrance gates, toilet facilities, landscaping and pathways will be developed in the Shiv temple area. At the same time, the entrance gate, picnic spot, resting shed, ghat development, pathway and stairs and railings in the Kailash cave complex located in the garden will be renovated, which will provide a safe and convenient experience to the tourists.
All these works will be done through the Mayali-Bagicha Development Project approved under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0 run by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. With the completion of the project, there is a possibility of increase in tourism activities, strengthening of the local economy and the cultural-natural identity of the area will get a new identity at the national level.
