The Uttar Pradesh government has transferred 24 senior IPS officers in a major administrative surgery in the police department late on Wednesday night. In this list released on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, not only the responsibilities of senior officers at the headquarters level have been changed, but the Police Captains (SP/SSP) of 11 important districts including the IG of Ayodhya Range have also been changed.

According to the list of transfers, senior officer Sujit Pandey has been given the important responsibility of Director General (DG) Fire Services. At the same time, Praveen Kumar will now be the new ADG of Lucknow zone. The government S. Emmanuel has been appointed as GSO of DGP. In an important change, Somen Burma has been made the new DIG of Ayodhya Range, which is considered a major posting considering the sensitivity of the area.

Talking about districts, new captains have been deployed in big districts like Meerut, Gorakhpur and Saharanpur. Avinash Pandey has been made SSP of Meerut, Dr. Kaustubh has been made SSP of Gorakhpur and Abhinandan has been made SSP of Saharanpur. Apart from this, Kunwar Anupam Singh has been appointed SP of Jaunpur, Dr. Khyati Garg of Lakhimpur Kheri and Yashveer Singh of Basti.

Among women officers, Charu Nigam has been given the command of Sultanpur and Aparna Rajat Kaushik has been given the command of Mirzapur, while Ravi Kumar will be the new captain of Rae Bareli. There has also been a reshuffle in the commissionerate system, in which Alok Priyadarshi has been sent to Varanasi and Rajkaran Nayyar has been sent to the post of Additional Police Commissioner in Ghaziabad.

Vipin Tada and Sankalp Sharma have been given the responsibility of Joint Police Commissioners in Kanpur Commissionerate. It is clear from this reshuffle that the government is bringing officers with experienced and strict image to the frontline to control the criminals.
