Trent posts 41% jump in Q3 profit on strong fashion retail performance

Trent Limited reported a 41 per cent increase in standalone profit after tax to ₹660 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2025, driven by robust growth in its fashion business retail. Revenue from operations grew 16 per cent to ₹5,259 crore during the quarter.

The Tata Group company’s operating EBITDA rose 23 per cent to ₹822 crore in Q3FY26, with operating EBIT margin expanding to 13.8 per cent from 13.2 per cent in the year-ago period. For the nine-month period, standalone PAT grew 24 per cent to ₹1,534 crore, while revenue increased 18 per cent to ₹14,765 crore.

On a consolidated basis, Trent reported revenue of ₹5,345 crore for the quarter, up 15 per cent, with PAT at ₹531 crore, reflecting a 7 per cent growth. The consolidated figures include proportionate share of profitability from the Trent Hypermarket joint venture.

The company’s aggressive store expansion continued during the quarter, adding 17 Westside and 48 Zudio stores, including one Zudio outlet in the UAE. As of December 31, 2025, Trent operated 278 Westside stores, 854 Zudio stores (including four in UAE), and 32 other lifestyle concept stores across 274 cities, spanning over 15 million square feet of retail space.

Chairman Noel N Tata said the fashion business registered category-leading growth despite operating on a higher base. He noted that customer sentiment is gradually improving and the medium-term outlook remains positive. The company continues to focus on portfolio growth, product enhancement and improving store experience.

Trent’s Star supermarket business operates 79 stores, with own brands now contributing over 74 percent of revenues. The company acknowledged that Star’s expansion has been slower than expected and plans to accelerate store openings in coming periods.

The shares of Trent Limited ended on the NSE today at ₹4,021 up by ₹198.20 or 5.18 per cent.
