Patna University Election: Patna University Students Union elections announced, voting and results on 28th, 14 booths made

Patna University Students Union elections were announced last Tuesday (February 03, 2026) and the date has also been revealed. This time the student union elections of Patna University will be held on 28th February. Earlier voting used to be held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm but this time the timing has been changed. This time voting will take place from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

After the elections, the process of counting of votes will start from 4:30 pm on 28th February. The result will be released by late night. With this announcement, the elected Students Union (PUSU) for the session 2024-25 has been dissolved with immediate effect. After getting approval from the Governor, the notification was issued yesterday (3 February).

Elections will be held for six posts

Student Union elections will be held for 6 posts but all eyes will be on the five major posts of President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer. Along with these posts, voting will also be held for council members. Nomination forms for student union elections will start being received from 11th February. Rs 50 will have to be paid for the nomination form.

According to the notification, nomination forms will be available on 11, 12, 13 and 14 February. After this, it will be collected on 16, 17 and 18 February. Scrutiny of nomination forms will be done on 19th February. The final list of candidates will be released on 21 February. The Model Code of Conduct has come into effect since last Tuesday, after the notification of the elections. The first voter list will be uploaded on the university website on February 6. After this, the final voter list will be published on February 10.

A total of 14 booths will be made for voting in the elections. There will be 6 ballot boxes at each booth. For 6 posts, different colored paper will be pasted on the ballot box with the names of different posts.

A look at the 2025 elections insert

Let us tell you that last year (2025) Patna University elections were held on 29 March. There were a total of 19,059 student voters, but 45% voting took place. The result was released late night on 29th March. ABVP candidate Maithili Mrinalini won the post of president by 596 votes. He received a total of 3524 votes. For the first time, a woman candidate had created history by winning the post of President. Manaranjan Raja of NSUI was at second position. He got 2928 votes. Apart from this, independent candidate Dheeraj Kumar had won the post of Vice President. Independent Saloni Raj had won the post of General Secretary. Rohan Singh of NSUI had won the post of Joint Secretary and Soumya Srivastava of NSUI had won the post of Treasurer.
