Tata Power Q3 profit flat at ₹1,194 crore despite revenue dip

Tata Power Company reported a profit after tax of ₹1,194 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, remaining nearly unchanged from ₹1,188 crore in the same period last year. The country’s largest integrated power company saw its revenue decline 4 per cent to ₹14,485 crore from ₹15,118 crore year-on-year.

However, the company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization grew 12 per cent to ₹3,913 crore during the third quarter compared to ₹3,481 crore in the previous year.

For the nine-month period ending December 2025, Tata Power’s profit rose 7 per cent to ₹3,702 crore while revenue edged up 1 per cent to ₹47,719 crore. EBITDA for the period increased 12 per cent to ₹11,874 crore.

The renewable energy business emerged as a strong performer with profit surging 156 per cent to ₹547 crore in the quarter. Revenue from renewables jumped 78 per cent to ₹3,785 crore. The company’s solar cell and module manufacturing unit more than doubled its profit to ₹251 crore, up 124 per cent year-on-year.

The distribution business also showed robust growth with profit climbing 167 per cent to ₹746 crore in the quarter. Odisha distribution companies recorded a 163 per cent profit increase to ₹226 crore, while transmission business profit rose 80 per cent to ₹166 crore.

Tata Power added 357 megawatts of renewable capacity during the quarter and crossed the milestone of 10 gigawatts in cumulative renewable project execution. The company’s total installed capacity now stands at 16.3 gigawatts.

The rooftop solar business installed 372 megawatts in the quarter, taking the cumulative installed capacity beyond 4 gigawatts with over 3 lakh customers. Manufacturing output reached 962 megawatts of cells and 990 megawatts of modules during the period.

The shares of Tata Power Company Limited ended on the NSE today at ₹371.05 up by ₹5.95 or 1.63 per cent.
