AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister E.K. Palaniswami has made serious allegations against the police and administration. He said that the cause of this painful accident is clearly in security. 39 people died and 51 people were injured in the accident.
Palaniswami said that if the state government and the police administration had already taken care, this dreadful accident could have been avoided. Based on the media report, he said that during actor Vijay’s party TVK rally, there was a power failure, causing confusion and stampede there. He also said that TVK has held four rallies so far. In such a situation, he should have been prepared in advance with security arrangements.
The former Chief Minister said that the police should have strengthened the security system by looking at the crowd and the situation of Karur gathered in the previous rallies. The government and TV leaders should also pay attention to this. Palaniswami met the injured at Karur’s government hospital and came to know about them. He said that a politician should monitor the crowd and improve any lapse immediately.
He said that the public comes in rallies with the confidence that the party, government and police will take care of them. So many people lost their lives. This is a very sad and shocking event. He has never happened in rallies of other political parties of the state.

He said that the police on one side provide complete protection in the programs of the ruling DMK. But the opposition has to knock on the door of the court.
In response to a question, he said that Chief Minister MK Stalin has a duty to go to the hospital to meet the victims and declare relief. He also alleged that the government did not make any serious efforts to stop the stampede and the police remained absolutely inactive.
