The UP International Trade Fair 2025, which was running at the expo mart of Greater Noida, was seen to be something different and very inspiring this time. Vaishali Biyani, a female entrepreneur of Kanpur, surprised the audience by displaying unique furniture and decorative items made of old tires under her startup ‘Decor Design’. While this stall is giving the message of environmental protection on the one hand, on the other hand, waste management is also becoming an example of converting waste management into employment.

Vaishali started this startup in the year 2018. Vaishali, who hails from Arya Nagar in Kanpur, saw that the process of making oil by burning old tires is causing huge loss to the environment. Then he decided that by reuse these tires, a product should be prepared which is not only durable, but also attractive to look. He got technical guidance from IIT Kanpur to advance this thinking and from here the foundation of ‘Decor Design’ was laid.

Employment for more than 50

Today, the turnover of his company has reached several crore rupees and more than 50 people are getting direct employment. Their products include garden chairs, bags, swings, table-chairs, outdoor furniture, plant holders, and decorative sculptures. The demand for these items is continuously increasing not only in India but also in countries like Germany, London, Dubai and South Africa.

The path of Vaishali’s success was not easy. Initially people did not take his idea seriously, but he did not give up. Today, her hard work has brought her to the list of the country’s leading women entrepreneurs.

Government gave reward

Recently, Vaishali’s startup was included in the top 30 startups in the country and a prize of 20 lakhs was also presented at the cleanliness startup conference organized by the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry.
