Due to these heavy rains, Punjab faced its most severe floods in decades. The rivers Sutlej, Beas and Ravi boom and water came out of many seasonal drains.
57 people lost their lives in this flood. Floods and waterlogging were also seen in many areas of Haryana. Thousands of acres of crops were destroyed in both the states, causing heavy losses to the farmers.

Even after the flood, the temperature was recorded above normal in most parts of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday (24 September). The maximum temperature in Chandigarh was 35.3 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees above normal. The temperature in Karnal, Haryana reached 34 ° C, Hisar and Narnaul to 36.4 ° C.
