
The South-West Delhi Police took a large-scale action in the district under Operation Kavach on 20 and 21 September 2025. Delhi Police raided 214 places and conducted intensive monitoring, high-visibility patrolling and picket checking from 94 teams. During this time, people involved in many incidents and crimes were caught.
6 cases were registered under the NDPS Act and 12 accused were arrested. In these, 19 kg of hemp and a large amount of smacks were recovered. At the same time, 18 cases were registered under the Excise Act and 18 people were arrested. Also, 2328 quarters, 42 half bottle and 98 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered.
7 people arrested in seven cases
Delhi Police arrested 7 people in seven weapons related cases, from which 6 knives, 1 desi katta and 2 cartridges were found. Under the Gambling Act, 21 accused were arrested in 10 cases and 10 thousand rupees of gambling amount and 58 cards were recovered.
Apart from this, 5 declared criminals were also arrested and 278 vehicles were seized under the DP Act. In special action, the police arrested three accused Navita, Sushant and Gopal from Kishangarh village with about 16 kg of hemp and 271 bottles of illegal liquor.
Police’s operation shield continues continuously
Two drug paddlers, Santosh and Irfan, from Sagarpur, were caught with 1.6 kg of hemp. At the same time, Rohit alias Manu was arrested with Smack from Sagarpur Nala Road. During this operation, a total of 88 people were arrested in public disturbance cases, 150 people in public alcohol drinking cases.
Also, 2030 people were detained under the DP Act. 311 miscreants and history sheeters were investigated and 340 COTPA invoices were issued. Operation Kavach is continuing continuously to curb the criminals of the police. According to the police, the operation will continue further regarding the action against the suspects in the area.
