A special program was organized on Monday on the occasion of World Rhinocerge Day at Sanjay Gandhi Organic Park (Patna Zoo). On this occasion, a detailed discussion was held on the conservation and promotion of rhinoceros. The officials visited the rhinoceros enclosure. He took information related to the conservation of rhinoceros in detail and appreciated the breeding and conservation works being done here.

Rhinoceros is the pride of the whole of India

Actually, rhinoceros is not only the pride of Bihar but also the whole country and its conservation is necessary for environmental balance as well as biodiversity. A special seminar was also organized on this occasion, in which B.N. Students of the Department of Zoology of College, Patna Women’s College and JD Women’s College actively participated.

Experts at the seminar gave detailed information on the species of rhinoceros, their lifestyle, current challenges and efforts being made towards conservation. The students enthusiastically participated in the Quality session and expressed their views on the importance of wildlife conservation.

Principal Secretary Anand Kishore said in his address that rhinoceros are an important part of our natural heritage. Our Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park comes second in the world after the Sen Diego Ju in unicorn protection and breeding. The sole purpose of the establishment of unicorn protection and breeding center in Patna Zoo was that they should feel the natural habitat which would be helpful in their protection and promotion.

Patna Zoo is counted among the leading institutions of Asia in this direction, where currently a good number of rhinoceros and reproductive centers are established. He said that today we have six male rhinos such as Prince, Ganesh, Yuvraj, Shakti, Shaktiraj, Jumbo and four female rhinos such as Khunangi, Gauri, Gudiya, Rani. Under the rebel exchange, 11 rhinos have been sent to many birds of the country from time to time. In return, many important animals have been received from the point of view of biodiversity.
