Colombo: India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan 3–2 here on Monday in a very exciting match of the Saif Under-17 Football Championship.

During the match, the controversial celebration of Mohammad Abdullah of Pakistan became a topic of discussion. The match became formal after both teams qualified for the semi -finals.

India took the lead in the 31st minute of the match with the goal of Dallalmon Gangte. Pakistan equaled Abdullah by converting penalty into a goal in the 43rd minute. After scoring the goal, he started copying drinking tea in a unique celebration with his colleagues.

However, his celebration was overshadowed by Pakistan as India proved its superiority by showing a brilliant game. Gunleeba Wangkheirakapam scored in the 63rd minute to give India a lead again, but seven minutes later Hamza Yasir scored an equal goal for Pakistan.

Raham Ahmed scored a goal in the 73rd minute to lead India 3–2, which proved to be decisive. After this, India did not give a chance to equalize Pakistan by strengthening the defense.

This controversial celebrations of Abdullah came just one day after Pakistan’s cricketers Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farham in Dubai on Sunday, exactly a day after the provocative gestures made during the Asia Cup Super Four match against India.
