New Delhi. Former Pakistan Cricket Board head Nazim Sethi has claimed that the appointment of a psychiatrist will not change the situation for the team overnight. His remarks came after reports on Saturday that the PCB had appointed a professional psychiatrist for the mental health care of the players before the India vs Pakistan match. Sethi explained why the psychiatrist would not do any use for Pakistan, he cited many factors, from the education of the players to the forbidden subjects.

The most interesting thing is that many of these experts are trained from abroad. They talk in English, which is not the language of our players. They have to talk in Urdu or Pashto. Their background, their class and lack of proper education is another issue. Psychiatrists also cannot teach them anything overnight.

Psychiatrist for Pakistan!

Rahil Karim is a psychiatrist who has been included in the team management to help the players. Pakistan has been engulfed in controversies since 14 September when the Indian team refused to join hands. Since then, the player must have been influenced by whatever is happening outside the field naturally – the dispute between PCB and ICC on the Andy Pikeroft issue. Najam Sethi told that she had adopted the same strategy for the Pakistan team during her tenure as PCB chief, but she had failed. The former PCB president said that therapy has been considered a sign of weakness or madness in his culture. He said that most of the mental health experts are trained abroad and can only talk in English, which Pakistani players do not understand.
