India A is still lagging behind by 129 runs from Australia A, which declared 532 runs for six wickets from the century of Sam Constas (109) and Josh Philip (123). Now only one day’s game is left and this match is moving towards a draw. Both teams will play the second four-day informal Test at the Ekana Stadium from 23-26 September, after which a three-match ODI series will be played in Kanpur.
Dhruv Jurael hardly removed the team by scoring an unbeaten century.
India A started the day by 116 runs for one wicket. Yesterday’s unbeaten batsmen Jagdishan and Sudarshan pair took the innings forward but the hosts soon got a setback. Last month, Jagdishan, who was in the Indian Test team in England, caught Philip on the ball of Xavier Bartlet after scoring 64 runs from 113 balls and a six.
Jurael-Podkkal has an unwavering partnership of 181 runs for the 5th wicket
The hosts were strengthened by Sudarshan and Padikkal by partnership of 76 runs. Most of the runs in this partnership were scored by Tamil Nadu left -handed batsman Sudarshan who made his Test debut in England. However, he fell off Konoli in the 59th over of the innings. Jurael and Padikkal then handled the innings and did not allow the bowlers of the team to achieve more success till the stumps. Jurael and Padikkal have shared an unwavering partnership of 181 runs for the fifth wicket. Padikal has hit eight fours in his innings of 178 balls.
