Chhatarpur: There is also a city in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh named after Lord Shri Ram’s son Luv and Kush. Also, there is another belief that there is an ancient temple of Love and Kush here. Which is said to be centuries old. How was this city named Lavkush Nagar?
Matadin Vishwakarma, a member of Lavkush Nagar, a member of the Samaj Seva Samiti, a mother Bambar, says that the city is related to the Treta Yuga. Lord Luv and Kush were raised in this city.
Matadin says that when Lord Rama sent mother Sita to exile in Treta Yuga, Laxman ji came to Valmiki Ashram.
MP government declared a tourist destination
Local people claim that there is a Bamberbeni mountain in this city where there was Valmiki Ashram and Laxman came to leave Sita in this ashram itself. According to locals, this is the same ancient mountain where mother Sita gave birth to Love and Kush. The Madhya Pradesh government has also declared this mountain as a tourist destination.
Matadin says that Valmiki Ashram is described around Chitrakoot in religious texts and the city is about 150 km from Chitrakoot. We have been hearing our ancestors from the elders that this is the place where there was Valmiki Ashram. However, there is another place around Chitrakoot where Valmiki Ashram states but we claim that there was Valmiki Ashram here.
Maharishi Valmiki Ashram was on the mountain
At the same time, Brijesh Sharma, priest of Bamberbeni, says that on the orders of Shri Ram, brother Laxman had left Sita here in Valmiki Ashram. There is a hill here called Bambar Beni. The name of this hill is also in the name of mother Sita. There is Valmiki Ashram here and mother Sita is also a kitchen.
The only ancient Lavkush temple
Local people claim that this city is the only ancient temple of Lord Luv Kush. However, nowadays Lavkush Jayanti is also being celebrated, so new temples are also being built. But this is the oldest temple and this temple is a natural temple, no one has built it. Here Luv and Kush have appeared in the rock (rock). Both Lav and Kush are standing with a bow in the brother’s hand. No one knows how old this temple is, even how old. This ancient temple gives evidence that this place was raised by Lavkush. The city is still settled. There were mountains and forests here. The entire area here used to come to Valmiki Ashram.
