The bridge belongs to the National Highway Authority but the Public Works Department has to do the work to fix it. He said that the bridge may take at least six months to recover. In such a situation, there is a preparation to find an alternative route about 50 to 60 meters above the damaged bridge by the department. The place has been seen for this. At the same time, Superintending Engineer Ompal Singh said that the disaster has given great damage to the roads of the district. Roads are losing about 42.62 crores. The first temporary construction is being done to smooth the routes. After that permanent construction will be started.

Drinking water supply will be smooth in the disaster -hit areas of the capital by 19 September. Secretary Drinking Water Shailesh Bagauli visited the disaster -hit areas on Wednesday and directed to smooth drinking water supply. Secretary Drinking Water Bagoli along with departmental officers inspected Bijapur, Bandal, Kesarwala, Purukul and Shahnashahi head and damaged pipelines associated with them. Instructions were given to repair the drinking water supply system as soon as possible. The supply of these sources was interrupted by the disaster on 16 September. Due to this, a population of about 2.35 lakh has been affected in the areas of DL Road, Karanpur, Kalidas Road, New Cantt Road, Rajpur, Chukkhuwala, Lower Raipur, Kidduwala, Purukul Village, Saloni Village, Jakhan, Vijayanagar, Dhakpatti etc. The Secretary directed that the supply system from Bijapur, Bandal and Saffron Head should be started temporarily by the evening of 17 September. Departmental officials said that by the morning of September 18, about 1.35 lakh people will get drinking water supply. The work of the remaining sources will be completed by the evening of 18 September. After this, water supply will also be ensured to the remaining one lakh people by the morning of 19 September.

Mussoorie-Doon route opened for small vehicles on third day
After the completion of the work of Bailey Bridge near the Shiva temple, the Mussoorie-Dehradun road was opened for small vehicles late on Wednesday night. At the same time, the process of constructing a temporary bridge near Nanda’s post is going on. According to officials, the flow of water in the river is sharp. This is facing difficulty in work. As soon as the flow is reduced, a temporary bridge will be made by putting Hume pipe in it so that people do not have to walk from another place. It is expected that this work will also be completed in three days. After this, work on the main bridge will be started. This will take more than a month.
