WHO is Usman Wahla: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has suspended its international cricket director Osman Vahla after a handshake controversy during the match against India in the Asia Cup 2025.

After the seven -wicket defeat to India, the Pakistan Cricket Board has suspended its International Cricket Operations Director Usman Vahla. The Pakistan Cricket Board headed by Mohsin Naqvi has taken disciplinary action against Vahla. The PCB believes that Vashala ‘did not take action on time’ over the controversy of joining hands in the Asia Cup.
The PCB says that at the time of the incident, Usman Vahla, who was present at the stadium in Dubai, did not take immediate action on the handshake dispute. According to the internal review report, Vahla delayed sending letters to the ICC or formally expressing anger. The PCB believes that this delay hurt Pakistan’s situation and dignity.
Pakistan wants to remove match referee
With the winning of the team by hitting the six, captain Captain Suryakumar Yadav started walking directly towards the dressing room with his partner Shivam Dubey. During this time, the players sitting in the balcony of the dressing room also went inside quietly and closed the door. The Pakistani team kept waiting that the Indian team would come down and shake hands, but it did not happen. PCB officials claim that the match referee Andy Paiyoft had instructed not to join hands even during the toss.
